Here we are again, another transfer deadline day that is expected to be a highly busy one with many teams up and down the country trying to strengthen their squads ahead of today’s 5 PM deadline.
On this page, we will update you on the deals that have happened in the last 24 hours, the deals that are close and of course the rumoured deals.
Done deals
The day before transfer deadline day is famous for seeing a flurry of activity. This window has been no different with some major deals concluded, much of the activity surrounding Chelsea.
The Blues completed an extraordinary deal to sign Spanish goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga joined from Athletic Bilbao for a fee in the region of £71.6million, a world record fee for a goalkeeper.
Kepa arrived to replace Belgian international goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois, who joined Spanish giants Real Madrid for a fee of around £35million. Croatian midfielder Mateo Kovacic moved in the opposite direction on a season-long loan.
Australian wonderkid Daniel Arzani has joined Manchester City from their sister club Melbourne. However, the highly-rated 19-year-old who appeared at the World Cup for the Socceroos could be heading straight out on loan to Scottish club Celtic. Wolves also completed the £18million signing of winger Adam Traore from Middlesbrough.
Deals close to completion
There are a number of deals that are close to completion. One of the most advanced is West Ham signing Arsenal’s Spanish forward Lucas Perez in a deal worth £5million. According to Sky Sports, The 29-year-old has passed his medical at the east London club.
Elsewhere, Brazilian winger Bernard has reportedly passed a medical ahead of joining Everton on a free transfer after leaving Shakhtar Donetsk as a free agent earlier this summer.
The Brazilian could be joined at Goodison Park by Barcelona duo Yerry Mina and Andre Gomes, as reports suggest that the Toffees are in talks to sign the pair. The latter is believed to be ‘desperate’ to complete an initial loan move, as he looks to play first team football this season.
Crystal Palace look to set to add Swansea striker Jordan Ayew to their squad on a season-long loan deal. The transfer is expected to be completed before the transfer window shuts.
Fulham look to be set for a busy day too, as the Cottagers have agreed a £6million deal with Bristol City for left-back Joe Bryan, while the Londoners are also reportedly in talks to sign Spanish full-back Martin Montoya from Valencia.
Elsewhere in London Tottenham full-back Danny Rose is subject to a loan bid from Schalke. The England international had previously been linked with a move to Wolves and Everton.
Manchester United’s search for a centre-back could continue, as the Red Devils have been linked with moves for the likes of Toby Alderweireld, Harry Maguire, Yerry Mina, with the latest player linked Atletico Madrid centre-back, Diego Godin.
Still time for moves
There is still plenty of time for moves to be completed. There is also time for transfers to seemingly come out of nowhere, as happens on every transfer deadline day.
A number of Chelsea players are being linked with late moves away from the club following the arrival of Kovacic. Danny Drinkwater, Tiemoue Bakayoko and Ruben Loftus-Cheek are all subject to interest from elsewhere.
. If the England international becomes available, then there is likely to be a queue of teams looking to recruit him before 5 PM today.
